Opportunities in the Engineering Department


Qt Software Developer / C++ Programmer

ICS has a number of positions available for Qt® Software Developers and C++ Programmers with an interest in travel.

Currently we have positions in the Boston area but will consider applicants who would work remotely from other locations.

You have:

  • 3+ years Qt programming and solid C++ development experience
  • C and object-oriented programming skills and/or GUI experience are also helpful
  • Incredible coding skills
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Incredible insight into all the aspects of software development, including client/server programming
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Roving Qt Software Developer / C++ Programmer

ICS has a number of positions available for Embedded Linux Developers.
Currently we have positions in the Boston area but will consider applicants who would work remotely from other locations.

  • Solid experience with embedded systems, preferably embedded Linux
  • Experience with Qt or Qtopia, low-level Linux programming, object-oriented programming skills and/or GUI experience are also helpful
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Good insight into all aspects of software development process
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills

OpenGL Developer

ICS has a number of positions available for OpenGL Developers.
Currently we have positions in the Boston area but will consider applicants who would work remotely from other locations.

You have:

  • Solid C++ programming skills
  • Solid experience with 3D graphics programming using OpenGL
  • Experience with OpenGL ES, Qt, Embedded Linux, object-oriented programming, and/or GUI experience are also helpful
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Good insight into all aspects of software development process
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Web Application Developer

This position is responsible for the technical development and maintenance of the ICS web pages (www.ics.com, www.motifzone.com, and www.project.net). Overall duties include:

  • Driving the implementation architecture
  • Defining the implementation strategies that support the marketing needs of ICS
  • Implementing forms, downloads, and other dynamic components of the web sites
  • Measuring and analyzing hits to tune the web sites
  • Tuning the web site to maximize search engine position.
  • Integrating content developed by others
  • Coordinating and promoting ICS products through appropriate web marketing opportunities

The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years professional experience in developing and maintaining large corporate web sites. We are looking for technical proficiency in the following areas:

  • Strong PHP skills including: form checking, data validation, templates, sessions management
  • Unparalled skills in HTML, Javascript, and CSS skills a must
  • Strong SQL and database management skills especially with mySQL
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Website QA skills desired.

Optional experience that will distinguish a candidate:

  • Graphic design experience
  • Java software development experience including jsp and 2EE
  • AJAX

Human Factors Usability Engineer

Integrated Computer Solutions, Inc. (ICS) has a new position for a Human Factors Usability Engineer in our Bedford, MA office. This position is responsible for providing UI Design and Usability support to the product development teams, including designing and specifying product UIs, the analysis and investigation of application usability focusing on Human Computer Interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive UI Design and coordinate usability on multiple, unrelated projects
  • Set project usability objectives
  • Work on problems of complex and diverse scope, identifying creative alternatives
  • Create and maintain UI prototypes and UI specifications
  • Collaborate closely with development, visual design, product management, and program management
  • Create, adapt, and implement innovative ways of achieving highly usable products

Education: B.A./B.S. in Human Factors Psychology, Engineering, CS, Cognitive Psychology or related discipline. M.A./M.S. in same preferred.

Qualifications: Minimum 8 years UI Design and Usability evaluation experience. Demonstrated skill in leading design and documenting UIs. Demonstrated skill in conducting all feedback methodologies (e.g., usability testing). Strong project management skills, including managing contractors, vendors, and interns. Excellent communication skills. Must have solid experience with and knowledge of both web-based and non-web UIs and be able to produce UI prototypes. The ability to work in a team setting and be independently motivated is key. C++ or Java experience a plus.




Senior Software Developers/Software Engineers

Join ICS and help design and implement a visual development environment for Linux and UNIX workstations. This exciting effort will expand our existing GUI builder product line by combining open source and proprietary software. This full time position requires a BSCS or equivalent and 3+ years of development experience using either C++ or Qt. Additionally, experience with Linux and/or Windows development, CORBA, databases and internet development technologies is a definite plus.




Technical Trainer

ICS is seeking a skilled Software Trainer. The primary responsibility is to provide software training to customers on-site, in the classroom and by telephone. Additional responsibilities include software implementation and technical application support, assisting the development team in product enhancements and investigating and documenting customer support issues. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of software training or engineering experience. In addition, candidates must be detail oriented with programming knowledge and experience of X Windows, C, C++, and Qt; Motif experience a plus. Excellent customer service, communication and presentation skills are required. Extensive travel will be required.



Opportunities in the Sales Department


Sales Engineer

Working at client sites to solve complex technical problems and to introduce new technologies and methods. Assignments include: design and implementation of software reuse tools and processes and extension and deployment of application frameworks for use in C++ and Java development environments. BSCS and 6+ years experience in design and implementation of OO software in C++. Extensive experience in X Windows and Motif, GUI Builders preferred. Excellent written and verbal skills as well as the willingness to travel.
